J&M Neate USA
During the summer months between December and March, you will find stone fruits such as peaches, nectarines, apricots and cherries. Sweet juicy berries are in abundance. Raspberries, strawberries, boysenberries and blueberries are fantastic for breakfast in fruit salad, smoothies, fruit ice creams, with pancakes or eaten on their own. Avocados, fresh beans, asparagus, salad greens, herbs and new potatoes are also at their prime during the summer months.
The lodge has its own organic kitchen garden and orchard, providing fresh vegetables and fruits for use in the breakfast and dinner menus. The growers markets are another excellent source of fresh local produce.
Products such as cheese, honey, smoked mushrooms, venison salami, olive products, seafood and many types of fish can also be found locally. To compliment the gourmet food available, Hawkes Bay also produces some spectacular wine.
